Flexible high-temperature system for gas phase processes

The Chair of Carbon Sources and Conversion has access to a versatile high-temperature facility for investigating conversion, adsorption, and reaction processes. The two-stage furnace design enables process engineering processes to be carried out under controlled temperature and gas phase conditions. The implementation of a high-temperature module allows investigation temperatures of up to 1500 °C to be achieved. The integrated mass flow controllers ensure a precise and variable gas supply (including H2, CO2, CO, etc.). Using a mass spectrometer, the gas phase within the system can be analyzed in high resolution and even trace components can be reliably detected.
