For research into thermodynamics, combustion processes, ignition and flaming processes with various liquid and gaseous fuels (gasoline, CNG, HCNG, H2, NH3) and mixtures thereof, the Chair of Carbon Sources and Conversion has access to a single-cylinder CHP engine from AVL in a full engine test bench. Using state-of-the-art, high-resolution indexing measurement technology, the recording of additional process variables (pressure and temperature) in the air-fuel and cooling systems, and a high-speed camera, the highly dynamic engine operation and its energy balance can be precisely analyzed and optimized.
